By using the services of Taxi Manchester you will agree with the following terms and conditions: Article 1: Reservations
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 15-07-2026
These Terms and Conditions apply when you use the Taxi Manchester website, the Cabsha mobile application, the Taxi Manchester online booking form or any other booking service operated by us.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before creating an account or booking a journey.
1. About us
Taxi Manchester is a trading name operated using the Cabsha booking platform.
The licensed operator responsible for accepting and fulfilling bookings is:
Legal business name: [LEGAL UK COMPANY NAME]
Trading names: Taxi Manchester and Cabsha
Company number: [COMPANY NUMBER]
Registered address: [REGISTERED UK ADDRESS]
Operating address: [LICENSED OPERATING ADDRESS]
Private-hire operator licence number: [OPERATOR LICENCE NUMBER]
Licensing authority: [LICENSING AUTHORITY]
Telephone: [UK TELEPHONE NUMBER]
Email: [SUPPORT@CABSHA.COM OR BOOKINGS@TAXIMANCHESTER.CO.UK]
VAT number: [VAT NUMBER, IF APPLICABLE]
In these Terms and Conditions:
“Taxi Manchester” refers to the Taxi Manchester website and trading brand.
“Cabsha” refers to our mobile application and integrated booking platform.
“Platform” means the Cabsha app, Taxi Manchester website and connected online booking system.
“Operator”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the licensed business identified above.
“Passenger”, “customer”, “you” and “your” refer to the person creating the account, making the booking or travelling under the booking.
“Driver” means the appropriately licensed driver allocated to a booking.
“Vehicle” means the licensed vehicle allocated to a booking.
2. Our service
The Platform allows customers to:
Request immediate journeys;
Schedule journeys in advance;
Enter pickup and destination details;
View estimated or fixed fares;
Select an available vehicle category;
Make payments;
Receive booking confirmations;
View driver and vehicle information;
Track the allocated vehicle where available;
Contact the driver or our support team;
Cancel bookings;
Receive journey receipts;
Leave ratings or feedback.
All private-hire journeys must be booked through the Platform or another authorised booking channel before the passenger enters the vehicle.
Our private-hire vehicles cannot be hailed in the street or hired from a taxi rank.
3. Relationship between Taxi Manchester and Cabsha
Taxi Manchester is a customer-facing website and brand through which Cabsha booking services are made available.
The booking form on the Taxi Manchester website is connected to the Cabsha booking and dispatch system. A booking made through the Taxi Manchester website is therefore treated in the same way as a booking made directly through the Cabsha app.
The legal operator responsible for your booking will be identified:
On the booking screen;
In your booking confirmation;
In your journey receipt; or
In another notice provided before the journey begins.
Where a booking is fulfilled by another licensed operator, we will provide the relevant operator information where required.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Cabsha account and enter into a booking contract.
You must provide accurate and current information, including:
Your name;
Mobile telephone number;
Email address;
Payment information;
Pickup and destination information;
Any accessibility or special travel requirements.
You are responsible for:
Keeping your login and verification information secure;
Controlling access to your telephone and Cabsha account;
Checking journey information before confirming a booking;
Informing us promptly if your account is used without permission;
Keeping your contact and payment details up to date.
You must not:
Create an account using false information;
Impersonate another person;
Create accounts to avoid charges or suspensions;
Use another person’s payment method without permission;
Use the Platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
We may ask you to verify your telephone number, email address, identity or payment method.
5. Booking for another person
You may make a booking for another passenger.
You must ensure that:
The passenger knows that the journey has been booked;
The passenger receives the relevant booking and driver information;
The passenger understands these Terms and Conditions;
The passenger can be contacted at the pickup location;
Any accessibility, luggage or child-seat requirements are entered correctly.
The account holder remains responsible for charges connected with the booking unless another payment arrangement has been accepted through the Platform.
6. Making a booking
To make a booking, you must enter the required journey information and confirm the booking through the Platform.
Depending on the service selected, the Platform may display:
An upfront fixed fare;
An estimated fare;
An estimated pickup time;
An available vehicle category;
An estimated journey duration;
Additional booking conditions;
A cancellation fee;
Airport, parking, toll or other charges.
You must check all information before selecting the final booking button.
The booking button should clearly indicate that confirming the booking may create an obligation to pay.
7. When a booking is confirmed
A booking is confirmed when the Platform:
Accepts the journey request;
Issues a booking reference or confirmed booking status; and
Sends confirmation through the app, website, email, SMS or push notification.
Driver allocation may take place before or after the booking is confirmed.
The fact that a driver has not yet been allocated does not necessarily mean that the booking is unconfirmed.
For immediate bookings, the Platform will search for an available driver after you submit the request.
For scheduled bookings, a driver may be allocated closer to the requested pickup time.
A booking acknowledgement that expressly states that the request is still being reviewed or is awaiting availability does not constitute confirmation.
8. Availability and driver allocation
Submitting a journey request does not guarantee that a driver will be available.
Driver and vehicle availability may be affected by:
Customer demand;
Location;
Traffic;
Weather;
Road closures;
Major events;
Vehicle availability;
Driver availability;
Licensing restrictions;
Technical problems;
Circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to allocate a suitable driver and vehicle.
Where we cannot fulfil a confirmed booking, we may:
Allocate another suitable licensed driver;
Provide a similar or higher vehicle category;
Arrange the journey through another licensed operator;
Offer a revised pickup time;
Cancel the booking and issue an appropriate refund.
You are not required to accept a replacement that materially changes the agreed service.
9. Driver and vehicle information
Once a driver has been allocated, the Platform may display:
Driver name;
Driver photograph;
Vehicle make and model;
Vehicle colour;
Registration number;
Driver or vehicle licence information;
Estimated arrival time;
Vehicle location;
Contact options.
You should check that the vehicle registration and driver details match the information shown in the Platform before entering the vehicle.
Do not enter a private-hire vehicle that has not been allocated to your booking.
Vehicle locations and arrival times shown on a map are estimates and may not always be exact.
10. Immediate bookings
An immediate booking is a request for a vehicle as soon as reasonably possible.
Any pickup time displayed before confirmation is an estimate and not a guarantee.
The estimated arrival time may change because of:
Traffic conditions;
Driver location;
Road closures;
Previous journeys;
Customer demand;
Weather;
Safety considerations.
You will be notified through the Platform when the driver has been allocated and when the vehicle is approaching or has arrived.
11. Scheduled bookings
A scheduled booking allows you to request a pickup for a future date and time.
A scheduled booking does not guarantee that the vehicle will arrive at the exact requested minute. We will make reasonable efforts to arrive at or close to the scheduled pickup time.
You should allow sufficient time for:
Airport check-in;
Security procedures;
Train departures;
Medical appointments;
Meetings;
Events;
Traffic disruption.
Driver allocation may occur shortly before the scheduled journey.
Where we become aware that a scheduled booking cannot be fulfilled, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative or notify you promptly.
12. Fares
The Platform may provide either:
A fixed upfront fare; or
An estimated fare calculated using expected time, distance and applicable charges.
The fare may take account of:
Journey distance;
Estimated journey time;
Vehicle category;
Customer demand;
Pickup location;
Destination;
Airport charges;
Parking charges;
Toll-road charges;
Clean Air Zone or congestion charges;
Waiting time;
Additional stops;
Public holidays;
Special events;
Other charges disclosed before confirmation.
All prices will be displayed in pounds sterling unless expressly stated otherwise.
Where VAT applies, the displayed price will state whether VAT is included.
13. Fixed and estimated fares
Fixed fares
A fixed fare will normally remain unchanged where the journey is completed according to the booking information.
The fare may be recalculated where you:
Change the pickup location;
Change the destination;
Add an unplanned stop;
Ask the driver to take a substantially different route;
Keep the driver waiting beyond the included period;
Provide incorrect passenger or luggage information;
Cause the journey to take materially longer;
Damage or soil the vehicle;
Request a different vehicle category.
Estimated fares
An estimated fare is not a guaranteed final price.
The final price may be calculated using the actual journey time, distance, waiting time and applicable charges.
Where possible, the method used to calculate the fare will be explained before the booking is confirmed.
14. Higher-demand pricing
At periods of unusually high demand, the Platform may offer journeys at a higher price.
Where higher-demand pricing applies:
The price or pricing method will be displayed before confirmation;
You will be able to review the price before booking;
You will not be charged merely for viewing the quotation;
The booking will only proceed after you actively confirm it.
We will not increase a confirmed fixed fare solely because demand later increases.
15. Payments
Available payment methods may include:
Debit card;
Credit card;
Apple Pay;
Google Pay;
Cabsha wallet or account credit;
Approved corporate account;
Cash, where specifically offered.
Available methods may vary by location, journey or account type.
By adding a payment method, you confirm that you are authorised to use it.
We may use a regulated third-party payment provider to process payments.
We do not normally store complete payment-card details ourselves.
16. Payment authorisation
When you request a journey, we may:
Verify your payment method;
Place a temporary authorisation hold;
Charge the estimated or fixed fare in advance;
Charge the final fare after completion;
Charge an applicable cancellation or no-show fee.
An authorisation hold is not necessarily a completed charge. The time taken for a bank to release an unused authorisation is controlled by the bank or payment provider.
If a payment fails, we may:
Ask you to provide another payment method;
Prevent further bookings;
Recover the outstanding amount from another authorised payment method;
Suspend the account until the balance is paid.
17. Receipts
After a completed journey, a receipt may be provided through:
The Cabsha app;
Email;
The Taxi Manchester website;
A corporate account portal.
You must contact us promptly if you believe a receipt or fare is incorrect.
18. Promotional codes and account credit
Promotional codes, discounts and Cabsha credit may be subject to additional conditions.
Unless stated otherwise:
Promotions are personal and non-transferable;
Only one promotion may be used per journey;
Promotions cannot be exchanged for cash;
Promotions may have an expiry date;
Promotions may apply only to certain services or locations;
Unused promotional value may not be refunded;
Promotions obtained through fraud or misuse may be cancelled.
We may correct or withdraw a promotion that was issued in error, subject to applicable consumer law.
19. Customer cancellations
Bookings should be cancelled through the Cabsha app or website wherever possible.
The cancellation screen will show any applicable cancellation charge before you complete the cancellation.
Immediate bookings
An immediate booking may normally be cancelled without charge during any free cancellation period displayed in the Platform.
A reasonable cancellation fee may apply where:
A driver has already accepted the journey;
The driver is travelling towards the pickup location;
The driver has arrived;
The free cancellation period has ended;
The driver has incurred parking, airport or toll charges.
Scheduled bookings
Unless different terms are displayed before confirmation:
Cancellation 24 hours or more before pickup: no cancellation fee;
Cancellation between 6 and 24 hours before pickup: up to 50% of the booking fare;
Cancellation less than 6 hours before pickup: up to 100% of the booking fare;
No-show: up to 100% of the booking fare.
Cancellation charges must reflect the circumstances of the booking and our reasonable costs and losses.
Different cancellation conditions may apply to:
Multiple-vehicle bookings;
Minibuses and coaches;
Weddings;
Roadshows;
Conferences;
Events;
Specialist vehicles;
Long-distance journeys;
Corporate contracts.
Any different conditions will be shown before confirmation.
20. Cancelling because of a driver delay
You may cancel without a cancellation fee where:
No driver has been allocated within a reasonable period;
The estimated arrival time has increased materially;
The driver is significantly later than the latest arrival estimate shown;
We tell you that we cannot provide the journey;
The allocated vehicle is materially unsuitable for the confirmed booking.
Where a cancellation fee is applied incorrectly, you may request a review through customer support.
21. Operator cancellations
We or the allocated operator may cancel a booking where:
No suitable driver or vehicle is available;
The journey would be illegal or unsafe;
The pickup or destination cannot be accessed;
The booking information is materially inaccurate;
Payment cannot be authorised;
Fraud or misuse is suspected;
The passenger behaves abusively or threateningly;
Circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent the journey.
Where we cancel a prepaid booking for reasons not caused by you, we will refund the affected journey charge.
22. Waiting time
The Platform or booking confirmation will state any included waiting time.
Unless otherwise stated:
Immediate and standard pickups
The driver may begin charging waiting time after arriving at the confirmed pickup location and allowing the free waiting period displayed in the Platform.
Airport pickups
Where a valid flight number is provided, the free airport waiting period will normally begin from the recorded flight landing time or another time stated in the booking confirmation.
Airport parking charges may be added where disclosed before booking or reasonably incurred because of additional waiting requested by the passenger.
The driver is not required to wait indefinitely.
23. No-shows
A booking may be treated as a no-show where:
You are not at the agreed pickup point;
You cannot be contacted;
You provided an incorrect location;
You selected the wrong date or time;
You leave the pickup point without informing us;
You enter another vehicle;
The applicable waiting period expires;
You refuse to travel without a valid reason.
Before treating the journey as a no-show, the driver or operator will normally make reasonable efforts to contact you.
A no-show fee of up to the full booking price may apply.
24. Location services and GPS
The Platform may use location information to:
Identify your pickup position;
Suggest addresses;
calculate a fare;
Find nearby drivers;
Allocate a driver;
Display the driver’s progress;
Support passenger and driver safety;
Investigate complaints;
Detect fraud;
Improve the service.
You can enter a pickup address manually if location permission is not enabled, although some Platform functions may be limited.
Location data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Platform must not collect or use more location information than is reasonably required for the stated purpose.
25. Push notifications, telephone calls and messages
We may contact you about an active booking through:
App notifications;
SMS;
Telephone calls;
Email;
In-app messages;
WhatsApp, where you have agreed to its use.
Operational messages may include:
Booking confirmation;
Driver allocation;
Driver arrival;
Payment receipt;
Journey changes;
Cancellation information;
Safety messages.
You are responsible for ensuring that your device can receive necessary communications.
Marketing communications will be handled separately and may be stopped using the unsubscribe method provided.
26. Passenger and luggage capacity
You must select a vehicle category suitable for all passengers, luggage, child seats and mobility equipment.
The driver must not carry:
More passengers than the vehicle is licensed for;
Luggage that cannot be stored safely;
Dangerous or illegal items;
Items that block doors or windows;
Items likely to cause unreasonable damage.
Vehicle capacity information displayed in the Platform is a guide. Capacity may depend on the size and shape of the luggage.
Where an unsuitable vehicle has been booked because incorrect information was provided, the journey may be cancelled or an additional charge may apply.
27. Changes during a journey
You may request reasonable changes, including an additional stop or destination change.
The driver may refuse a change where it would:
Be unsafe or unlawful;
Exceed driving-hour or licensing restrictions;
Interfere with another confirmed booking;
Require a vehicle that is not suitable;
Take the driver outside an authorised operating arrangement.
An additional fare may be charged for changes in distance, time, waiting or route.
The updated fare may be displayed in the Platform or calculated after the journey.
28. Passenger conduct
Passengers must behave safely, lawfully and respectfully.
Passengers must not:
Threaten or assault a driver;
Use abusive or discriminatory language;
Smoke or vape in the vehicle;
Carry illegal drugs or dangerous items;
Deliberately distract the driver;
Damage the vehicle;
Interfere with vehicle controls;
Open doors while the vehicle is moving;
Refuse to wear a seat belt where required;
Ask the driver to break the law;
Engage in conduct that places anyone at risk.
The driver may refuse or end the journey where a passenger’s conduct is unsafe, unlawful, abusive or seriously disruptive.
No refund will normally be due where the service is refused or ended because of the passenger’s conduct.
29. Cleaning and damage charges
You are responsible for damage or exceptional cleaning caused by you, your guests, children, animals or luggage.
This may include:
Vomiting or bodily fluids;
Food or drink spillages;
Smoking damage;
Torn or stained upholstery;
Broken fittings;
Damage to doors, seats or windows;
Professional cleaning;
Loss of vehicle use during cleaning or repair.
We may charge the reasonable evidenced cost of cleaning, repairs and related loss of use.
You may request evidence supporting the charge.
30. Children and child seats
Children must travel in accordance with applicable UK seat-belt and child-restraint laws.
Where child seats are available through the Platform:
They must be requested before booking;
Availability must be confirmed;
Additional charges may apply;
The accompanying adult remains responsible for checking that the restraint is suitable.
You may provide your own child seat.
Unless a specific safeguarding or corporate arrangement has been approved, children under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
31. Disabled passengers
We are committed to providing an accessible and non-discriminatory service.
You should enter relevant accessibility requirements when booking, including:
Wheelchair requirements;
Mobility equipment;
Assistance required;
Communication requirements;
Assistance-dog information.
No additional charge will be imposed merely because a passenger is disabled or requires assistance protected by law.
Not every vehicle can carry a passenger who remains seated in a wheelchair. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle must therefore be specifically selected or requested and confirmed.
32. Assistance dogs and animals
Recognised assistance dogs will be carried without an additional charge, subject to applicable law.
Where a driver has a valid medical exemption, we will make reasonable efforts to allocate another suitable vehicle.
Other animals may only be carried where the selected service permits this or prior approval has been obtained.
The passenger may be responsible for reasonable cleaning or damage caused by an animal.
33. Vehicle substitutions
Vehicle images and model names shown through the Platform are illustrative unless a specific make and model has been expressly guaranteed.
We may provide a similar vehicle in the same or a higher category.
Where only a materially lower category is available, we will notify you and provide an appropriate price adjustment where applicable.
34. Other licensed operators
We may arrange for another appropriately licensed operator to fulfil a booking where permitted.
The other operator may receive the information reasonably required to complete the journey, including:
Passenger name;
Contact details;
Pickup and destination;
Journey time;
Accessibility requirements;
Relevant booking notes.
The operator, driver and vehicle responsible for the journey will be appropriately licensed for the booking arrangement.
Where required, the identity and licensing authority of the other operator will be provided to you before the journey.
35. Ratings and feedback
After a journey, passengers and drivers may be invited to provide ratings or feedback.
Ratings and feedback must be:
Honest;
Relevant to the journey;
Lawful;
Free from threatening, discriminatory or abusive content;
Free from knowingly false allegations.
We may remove feedback that breaches these conditions.
Ratings may be considered when investigating complaints, improving the service or deciding whether an account may continue using the Platform.
36. Account restriction and suspension
We may restrict or suspend an account where we reasonably believe that:
The account is being used fraudulently;
Charges remain unpaid;
False information has been provided;
The customer has endangered a driver or another person;
The customer has repeatedly failed to attend bookings;
The customer has abused drivers or support staff;
The Platform is being misused;
Suspension is required by law or a licensing authority.
Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a method to request a review.
Serious safety or fraud concerns may result in immediate suspension.
37. Lost property
Passengers are responsible for checking that they have all belongings before leaving the vehicle.
If an item is found, we will make reasonable efforts to identify the owner.
You may be required to:
Describe the item;
Provide the journey reference;
Collect the item from an agreed location;
Pay reasonable delivery or postage costs.
Valuable, suspicious or unclaimed property may be passed to the police or relevant authority.
38. Delays and circumstances outside our control
Pickup and arrival times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including:
Severe traffic;
Accidents;
Road closures;
Weather;
Police activity;
Airport disruption;
Public events;
Civil emergencies;
Communication failures;
Unexpected driver illness;
Unexpected vehicle breakdown.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and provide an alternative where reasonably possible.
39. Breakdowns
If a vehicle breaks down or becomes unavailable, we will make reasonable efforts to:
Provide another vehicle;
Arrange another licensed operator;
Continue the journey;
Refund the part of the service that was not provided.
Passengers must follow reasonable safety instructions given by the driver.
40. Liability
We will provide or arrange the service with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
Breach of statutory consumer rights;
Liability that cannot legally be excluded.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made.
We are not responsible for missed flights, trains, appointments or events where:
Insufficient travel time was allowed;
The delay resulted from circumstances outside our reasonable control;
Incorrect booking information was provided.
Where our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill causes reasonably foreseeable loss, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
41. App and website availability
We aim to keep the Platform available and functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Access may be interrupted because of:
Maintenance;
Updates;
Network failures;
Map or payment-provider failures;
Device compatibility;
Cybersecurity concerns;
Events outside our control.
Where the Platform is unavailable, any alternative booking method will be displayed on our website where possible.
You must not:
Attempt unauthorised access;
Reverse engineer the Platform except where permitted by law;
Introduce malicious software;
Interfere with dispatch or pricing systems;
Scrape or copy Platform data;
Use automated systems to make false bookings.
42. Intellectual property
The Cabsha name, Taxi Manchester name, logos, software, designs, booking interfaces and website content are owned by us or used under licence.
You may use the Platform only for personal or authorised business travel bookings.
You may not reproduce, sell, license or commercially exploit Platform content without written permission.
43. Apple App Store and Google Play
Where the Cabsha app is downloaded through Apple App Store or Google Play, the applicable store terms may also apply.
Apple and Google:
Do not provide the booked transport service;
Are not responsible for the driver or journey;
Do not set the journey fare;
Are not responsible for resolving transport complaints;
Are not parties to the passenger transport contract.
Questions about a Cabsha booking should be directed to us rather than the app-store provider.
44. Privacy
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection law.
Information may be used to:
Create and manage accounts;
Process bookings;
Calculate fares;
Allocate drivers;
Process payments;
Provide journey tracking;
Communicate with passengers;
Investigate complaints;
Prevent fraud;
Meet licensing and legal obligations;
Protect passenger and driver safety.
The Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms and Conditions.
45. Complaints
Complaints may be submitted through:
The Cabsha app;
The Taxi Manchester website;
Email;
Telephone;
The contact address below.
Please provide:
Booking reference;
Journey date and time;
Pickup and destination;
Description of the problem;
Relevant photographs or evidence;
The outcome you are requesting.
We will investigate complaints fairly and as promptly as reasonably possible.
Serious safety, safeguarding, discrimination or criminal allegations may be reported to the police, licensing authority or another appropriate body.
46. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions because of changes to:
The Platform;
Our services;
Payment methods;
Licensing conditions;
Applicable law;
Safety requirements.
The version applying to a booking will normally be the version available when the booking was confirmed.
We will not materially change an already confirmed booking without notifying you, unless required by law.
47. Severability
If a provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
48. Third-party rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to the booking contract has no right to enforce these Terms and Conditions under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
49. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
